Sole-Guard™ is the first product of its kind to offer fast and effective protection and support for the unshod foot. Simply fill the bottom of the foot with Sole-Guard creating a protective coating that bonds to the foot for three weeks. Sole-Guard sets firm to protect the unshod foot, but retains flexibility to move naturally with the foot, providing comfort and support. PLEASE NOTE
  • Vettec products are best used between 65° and 85° F (18° to 29° C).
  • Areas of wetness or bleeding should not be covered. Once healed, commence using products.
  • Use of disposable gloves is recommended.
  • Do not burn or “Hot Shoe” this product.
  • Use only Vettec mixing tips.
CARTRIDGE PREPARATION
  1. To open the cartridge, remove the tip at line with nippers. Insert cartridge into dispensing gun, label side up.
  2. Before attaching the mixing tip, equalize the cartridge by squeezing out a small amount to ensure that both sides are dispensing evenly.
  3. Attach mixing tip by pressing and twisting clockwise.
  4. When finished, don’t release the pressure with the lever on the back of the dispenser. Remove the mixing tip immediately, discard, and replace with a cap. Push the pressure release lever. Caps are available from your dealer.
  5. For additional applications, re-equalize the cartridge, and attach a new tip.
HOOF PREPARATION
  1. Trim and conservatively pare the sole. With hoof knife trim and clean the frog, bars and commisuers.
  2. DRY HOOF THOROUGHLY using a heat gun or hair dryer, even if you don’t think it needs it. Don’t overheat.
PROCEDURE 1 - When working on level surfaces
  1. Immediately after drying, hold the hoof as flat and level as possible.
  2. With the frog turned upward, dispense Sole-Guard and fill in the sole until the desired level is achieved.
  3. This is usually just short of the white line. Do not fill above the level of the wall.
  4. Place plastic sheet over sole and smooth to desired effect.
  5. Hold the hoof for approximately 1 minute, then release.
  6. Remove plastic sheet in approximately 5-6 minutes.
PROCEDURE 2 - When working on soft or uneven surfaces
  1. After drying; hold the hoof and dispense Sole-Guard alowing material to flow towards toe.
  2. Apply a foam board to the toe region first and lay the board towards the heel leveling the Sole-Guard material.
  3. Hold for one minute and set the foot down.
  4. Remove foam board after 6 minutes.
EMERGENCY/TRAIL RIDING ROCEDURES
  1. Wire-brush the sole and frog removing all dirt and debris.
  2. Dry the sole and frog using clean rag or towel.
  3. Apply as above using either method 1 or 2.
